Evaluation of the Damping Layer between the Tunnel Lining and Surrounding Rock via a Shaking Table Test

This paper primarily investigates the protective effect of damping layer in tunnel lining structures under dynamic loads. A series shaking table tests was conducted to investigate seismic response mechanism linings and influence surrounding rocks using Wenchuan earthquake (magnitude 8.0) as a reference. The results show that protection measures is accurate efficiency evaluation method for excitation. lower excitation acceleration is, better will be. In addition, coefficient introduced optimize layer. Among factors influencing structures, type rock has significant impact while thickness relatively lesser influence. intensity areas equal magnitude, an increase leads more noticeable effect. different areas, difference with change no longer obvious intensity. Moreover, presence alters intrinsic vibration characteristics structure, creating space deformation between rock.
